I’m always trying new things and this time I’m trying “new things” on the radio. Get the scoop in this NS article and tune in tonight from 9-11 pm on WBKM.ORG.
Today at work, I heard a knock on the door. It was an UVM student conducting a happiness survey. He asked if I had 5 minutes to answer a few questions and of course, I said yes. The questions ranged from, “How happy are you with your current health?” to “How happy are you with your current involvement in local government?” The answers were on a scale from 1-10, 1 being absolutely no happiness and 10 representing total happiness. After answering the questions, I asked the student how I ranked compared to other surveys he’s read and it turns out, I’m pretty stoked on life, which is good. Then I asked how accurate the survey could be with all the millions of scenarios that play into one’s everyday happiness levels. Blank stare. Either way, I’m stoked and it turns out, I’m also pretty happy.
…Future? No. Back to writing, actually. Since taking this awesome job, I haven’t found much time to do what I enjoy doing the most, writing and interviewing. That’s not to say I haven’t been enjoying my other activities, I just feel more at home with the written word. That being said, I’m happy to announce to all 12 of my daily readers that starting this summer I’ll be writing a weekly column on Ski The East.net. The column, which has not been named yet, will run once a week on the site and feature mostly interviews with various folks, including but certainly not limited to, athletes, photographers, cinematographers, musicians, and artists. I’m pumped, as Dan Brown says, to be back writing and hope to be providing people with an enjoyable 700-1000 words a week. Of course, I’ll post links to all my articles here on MichaelDavidRogge.com (as my parents would prefer I call it). Until then, thanks for reading and keep checking back for the hilarious joke and never-ending party that is my life.

I’ve been busy as heck and as a result, the updates on the site haven’t been as frequent. Ok, let’s be honest, they’ve been nonexistent! As a way to make it up to those of you still stumbling upon this site, I’ve added a fun gallery below for your visual enjoyment. Also, you may have noticed the Meathead Films twitter stream on the right side of the page. I’m experimenting with Twitter for work and now you’ll be able to follow the action right here on mikerogge.com (hold your applause). I have a few more weeks of craziness but I hope to be back to updating with more profound and well thought out pieces of writing. Until then, enjoy the photos and thanks for being loyal.
